Do you know how to use the sunshade net correctly?

Publish Time: 2024-08-29
The correct use of sunshade nets is crucial to improving the shading effect and protecting crop growth. Here are some key usage methods and precautions:

1. Selection of sunshade nets

Color selection: Common shade net colors on the market are black and silver-gray. Black sunshade nets have a high shading rate and good cooling effect, but they have a greater impact on photosynthesis. They are suitable for use on shade-loving crops or short-term coverage. Although the cooling effect of silver-gray sunshade nets is slightly inferior to black, it has less impact on crop photosynthesis. It is suitable for use on light-loving crops or in greenhouses that require long-term coverage.

Shading rate selection: Choose the appropriate shading rate according to the light requirements of the crop. For example, crops with low light saturation points such as peppers can choose shade nets with a shading rate of 50%70%; while crops with higher light saturation points such as cucumbers should choose shade nets with a shading rate of 35%50%.

Material and craftsmanship: When purchasing, you should choose a sunshade net with reliable quality, pay attention to whether its thermal shrinkage is stable, and avoid excessive shading rate or tearing of the sunshade net due to thermal shrinkage after use.

2. Installation of sunshade net

Pavilion-style covering: In practical applications, pavilion-style covering is more commonly used because of its smooth air circulation and good cooling effect. The specific method is to use the skeleton of the arch shed to cover the sunshade net on the top, and leave a 60-80 cm ventilation belt to enhance the cooling effect.

Keep a distance from the shed film: If the greenhouse is covered with a film, the sunshade net cannot be directly covered on the film, and a gap of more than 20 cm should be left to use the wind to cool down. At the same time, it is recommended that the sunshade net be kept 0.5-1 meter away from the shed surface, which can accelerate the heat loss in the shed and improve the sunshade and cooling effect.

3. Time and method of using the sunshade net

Covering time period: Avoid covering the sunshade net all day to reduce the adverse effects on crop photosynthesis. Usually, it can be covered between 10 am and 4 pm according to the temperature, and the sunshade net can be removed when the temperature drops to 30℃. Do not cover the sunshade net on cloudy days to minimize the adverse effects on crops.

Flexible adjustment: Covering the sunshade net should be flexibly controlled according to the weather conditions, crop types and the requirements of light intensity and temperature in different growth periods of crops. For example, in the critical period of crop growth or in high temperature and strong light weather, the covering time of the sunshade net can be appropriately increased; while in the dormant period of crops or in low temperature and weak light weather, the covering of the sunshade net should be reduced or avoided.

4. Precautions

Regular inspection and maintenance: During the use of the sunshade net, it should be regularly checked whether it is intact. If it is damaged, it should be repaired or replaced in time. At the same time, the dust and debris on the sunshade net should be cleaned to ensure its shading effect.

Avoid excessive shading: The shading rate of the sunshade net is not the larger the better. Too high a shading rate will lead to reduced photosynthesis of plants and thin stems, thus affecting the normal growth and yield of crops. Therefore, when choosing and using the sunshade net, you must pay attention to whether its shading rate is moderate.

Correct selection and use of sunshade nets are of great significance to improving the growth environment of crops and protecting crops from high temperature and strong light damage. In practical applications, the use method and time of the shade net should be flexibly adjusted according to the specific needs of crops and weather conditions.
